MASTIC 2018 program included a one day tour in Bali. Bali is a popular tourist destination, which attracts both local and international tourists since the 1980s. It is renowned for its highly developed arts including traditional and modern dances, sculptures, paintings, leather, metalworking, and music.

After the conference, the participants enjoyed the visits to :

1. Garuda Wisnu Kencana

Garuda Wisnu Kencana (GWK) Cultural Park is a ± 60 ha area of cultural park. The main icon of this park is Garuda Wisnu Kencana Statue with ±120-meter tall and 64-meter width.

2. Uluwatu Temple

Uluwatu Temple was built in the 11th century by the emperor, Empu Kuturan, although some accounts hold that the temple existed long before and that the emperor merely expanded it.  Uluwatu Temple is perched on top of a steep cliff, roughly 200 feet above the crashing waves of the Indian Ocean. Uluwatu Temple provides an excellent view of the ocean and a colorful sunset.

3. Padang Beach

Bali Padang Padang Beach is one of the best beaches in Bali in addition to dreamland, Kuta and Nusa Dua. White sandy beach stretching ahead of you, clear blue water and flat, perfect for swimming. Sand white color contrasts with the black rocks and blue sea exotic. The beach was clean, quiet atmosphere and crystal clear waters will make us feel at home after a long time to swim and sunbathe here.

4. Barong Dance

Barong dance narrating the fight between good and evil. This dance is the classic example of Balinese way of acting out mythology, resulting in myth and history being blended into one reality.
